Auditions:  7:00 – 9:00pm

At the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center in

Clifton Common, off Vischer Ferry Road



Production Dates:  January 25, 26 and 27, 2013

Clifton Park-Halfmoon Community Library





The Beast, an original play written by Marty Egan, is set in World War II
occupied France.  This will be the play’s first fully staged production,
directed by Monica Cangero. The Beast explores ethical and moral dilemmas
which are universal to the human condition and transcend the historical
setting of the piece.



This production is sponsored by the Not So Common Players of Clifton Park
and is the organization’s first fully staged *NON-MUSICAL* production.

Characters:

Gerard Mercier – The picture of a small town banker, confident, pleasant
and shrewder than he looks.  A widower.



Madeleine Mercier –Gerard older sister.   She runs his household
efficiently and with aplume.



Julie Mercier – Gerard’s daughter, a young schoolteacher with hidden
dimensions



Otto Kessel – A major in the German Army, billeted in the Mercier’s home
(Please note that this part has been cast.)



Wilhelm Hartmann – A lieutenant in the German Army, Kessel’s aide.  He
looks like he stepped out of a recruiting poster



The Agent – An Allied Spy
