Curtain Call Theatre (Latham, NY) will be holding auditions for their
upcoming production of

 

"Figaro"

 

by Charles Morey, Directed by Barbara Richards

Freely adapted from Le Mariage de Figaro by Pierre Beaumarchais.

NOTE:   This is NOT the opera by Mozart - no singing required.

 

 

Location:          Curtain Call Theatre, 210 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY 12110

Date:                Mon, November 4

Time:               7:00pm - 9:00pm


 


 

Rehearsals: Start mid-January 2014

Performance Dates: February 21 through March 22, 2014 (Thu 7:30pm, Fri & Sat
8pm, Sun 3pm) 

 

There is no need to make an appointment. Sides will be available at the
audition.

Please bring a picture and resume (attached), if you have them.

A single day in 1780s Spain when a very few had all the money and power, and
the rest had nothing but their wits.  The enterprising Figaro (servant,
barber, troublemaker) is getting married in the morning and he couldn't be
happier.  But with everybody scheming to come between him and his bride,
Figaro will need all of his cleverness and bravado to make it down the
aisle.

 

The following roles are available:

 

FIGARO:  30s-40s.  Comic lead.  Very smart, very quick.  A great heart and
joy in life but a deep anger underneath.  The "trickster".

 

COUNT ALMAVIVA:  30s-50s. Imposing and forceful.  Aristocratic. A lecher
with a comedic twist.  Ultimately not un-likeable.

 

COUNTESS ALMAVIVA (ROSINE):  20s-late 30s.  Beautiful, aristocratic, but
deeply saddened by her husband's neglect.  Smart and resourceful when she
needs to be.

 

DOCTOR BARTHOLO:  50s.  Smart, arrogant and somewhat aloof.

 

MARCELINE:  40s-50s.  Faded.  Somewhat slatternly.  Strong willed.  Will do
almost anything to get what she wants.

 

FANCHETTE:  Teens-20s.  Beautiful and sexy.  About as smart as a rock.

 

CHERUBIN/DOUBLEMAIN:  20s-30s.  Cherubin - very boyish, considers himself a
great lover; Doublemain-officious court clerk.
