Schenectady Theater for Children (STC) announces auditions for its 2015
touring production.   STC is seeking adults and young adults (teen ages and
above) to join the Spring troupe.  Must have availability during daytime
hours from January to June.

*Wednesday and Thursday*
*Dec 17 and 18*
*9:30 am till 12:30 pm*

*STC Studio*
*Rotterdam Square Mall*
*Campbell Road, Rotterdam NY*

*(next door to the Sears concourse entrance)*
Actors will read from script.  Please *do not* prepare a musical audition
piece.  There is no compensation for actors performing in the company.

The Schenectady Theater for Children (STC) is a not-for-profit, adult
volunteer company entering its 48th season of bringing educational and
entertaining theater to the youth of the Capital District.  Combing humor,
music, and action, STC performs at schools, libraries, museums, and other
venues to deliver messages which are important to students.

The Spring 2015 troupe will be presenting *It's Raining Tamales*, written
by Kit Goldstein.  This musical adaption of a Mexican folktale is narrated
to the audience by the family cat, El Gato.  A woodcutter and his wife have
been poor all their lives, until one day the man stumbles across a bag of
money hidden in a tree.  His wife realizes that it must have been hidden by
robbers, and tells him to keep quiet about it.  The man, however, wants to
spread the word to either find the original owner or share their good
fortune with their neighbors.  His wife, eager to keep the money, comes up
with a plan to make sure no one believes a word the woodcutter is
saying.   *It's
Raining Tamales* emphasizes the value of education and delivers the message
that honesty is always the best policy.
