The Local Actors Guild of Saratoga Announces their auditions for their December first annual new play festival. 
The Local Actors Guild will be presenting three full length plays in repDecember 13-21.
Auditions will be held Monday October 27th – 7pm at the Saratoga Arts Center, 320 Broadway. Actors are asked to bring a one minute monologue. If you do not have or cannot find one, one will be provided at auditions. Actors might also be asked to read from provided sides.
Rehearsals will begin Sunday, November 2nd, please bring a list of all conflicts to auditions. Rehearsals will be in Saratoga.

Welcome Home Jimmy
Written by: Brian Sheldon
Directed by: Patrick White
Needed: 3W/4M
Synopsis: After a tour in Afghanistan, Jimmy is returning to his loving, conservative family. The house has been cleaned and decorated; all that’s needed now is Jimmy. As the family arrives and awaits the return of the prodigal son, they agree to keep secret the one thing that could ruin Jimmy’s homecoming and in doing so, begin unearthing other secrets that start tearing at the seams and begin to crush everything these people know about family. 
Characters:
HARRIET: (Late 40’s, early 50’s) Stay at home Mom. Very by the book. The type of person to keep everything in. Extremely proud of her Son. Never really connected to her Daughter. Faithful Wife.
SAMANTHA: (20’s) Harriet’s Daughter. She couldn’t keep her mouth closed if it was welded shut. Close to her Father and sees something lacking in her Mother. Democrat.
PHIL: Harriet’s husband. Great Father, good husband. Phil has been known to take a risk or two, but mostly stays between the lines.
BEN: Phil’s older Brother. Loose cannon. Has never lived inside any kind of line. Has borrowed more money from Phil than can be calculated. Free spirited.
KATE: (Mid to late 20') Ben’s new, very young wife. A lifeguard. Not the sharpest.

Life in 3D
Written and Directed by: Christina Asselin
Needed: 5W/1M
Synopsis:The following is the story of Ally and her friends, many of whom live on the third floor of her apartment building. The show primarily takes place in Ally’s apartment as she and her friends navigate dating, and friendships, at this juncture of their respective lives. Ally is a self identified Lesbian. She came out in her early 20’s but has only really ever dated one woman. Six months before the play is set Ally’s live in girl friend Jamie leaves her without an explanation. A major subplot of the story is the interplay between Ally and her mother who is still coming to terms with her daughter’s sexuality.

Characters:
ALLY: Chapstick Lesbian female in her mid to late 20’s.
DANI: Ally’s best friend also in her mid to late 20’s.
JO:Ally’s neighbor and friend. Jo is the definition of a Tomboy. She has a virtual uniform of basketball shorts, backwards baseball caps, t-shirts, tube socks and sandals. She is always eating. She’s often the comic relief and the voice of reason amongst the friends.
REGGIE: The new neighbor who recently moved back to town. Reggie is a woman in her 20’s -30’s.
ALLY’S MOM: A woman in her 50’s-60’s. She loves her daughter fiercely and is coming to terms with Ally’s sexuality through the course of the play.
ELLIOT/ELLIE GANZA: Ally’s other next door neighbor. Elliot is a professional drag queen, in his 20’s-30’s. He is Ally’s major emotional support.

Chasing Charles

Synopsis: This Drama/Comedy is based on true life events of Charles Elsen a professional make up and wig designer. Set against the backdrop of Manhattan from the late 70's to the early 80's. The show follows Charles and his longtime business partner Dennis' friendship and how it stood the test of time through the AIDS crisis. 

Characters:
CHARLES: Makeup & Wig Designer. 30’s, Italian and charming.
DENNIS: Charles’ best friend and business partner.
ANGELA: Charles’ overbearing Italian Mother.
EDWARD: Flamboyant Wig designer. 30's
BRIAN: A hustler who later becomes Charles’ boyfriend. 20’s
CAROL: An Opera soprano – 20’s-30’s
RICHARD: An Opera baritone – 20’s-30’s. Also plays a Male Nurse
Please note: The roles of Dennis and Angela are already cast.
