AmericanHeritage Living History Productions presents Drums Along the Mohawk OutdoorDrama by Walter D. Edmonds at Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk, NY. [Exit 30 offthe NYS Thruway]

Auditionsdates, times and location:
·         Monday, May18th & Tuesday, May 19th, 2015
·         6:30pm sign-in;7:00pm auditions begin according to the order ofsign in.

Amsterdam, NY  12010

Pleasebring copy of resume and head shotand prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic monologue. Please also be prepared to readfrom sides provided at the audition.
Rehearsal site [in the Amsterdam area] willbe verified by approximately May 12th. 
Please note that thisis an outdoor production that is subject to the indigenous hazy, hot and humid weather elements usual in August. Provisions will be taken during performancesto protect the cast from the elements.
Rehearsals in June and Julywill be conducted both indoors and outdoors as the cast tolerates.

DrumsAlong the Mohawk returns to the Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk, NY this summerto present the story of Gil and Lana Martin, a newlywed couple thrust into thedrama of the American Revolution.

Castwill share stage hand duties as well.
Withthe exception of Adam Helmer, all male roles will be clean shaven. Hair growth is encouragedfor both male and female roles.
Castingfor the following roles:

Gil     Martin: Plays in his 20’s: Romantic lead: Newly wed to Lana. Very much     in love with her. Upstanding farmer. Boy next door type. Best friend of     Adam Helmer.

Lana     Martin: Plays in her 20’s: Romantic lead: Very much in love with Gil:     Maternal, feminine, girl next door type but can muster strong inner     resolve.

General     Nicholas Herkimer: Hero: Plays 50. Fatherly figure to the Mohawk     Valley community. Very well respected. No children of his own. Benevolent     and the most affluent patriot citizen of the Mohawk Valley. German accent HIGHLY     desired but not necessary. Loves his wife Maria.

Maria     Herkimer: Plays 18. Second wife of General Nicholas Herkimer. Loving     and devoted to her husband.

Mrs.     McKlennar: Plays 50’s-70’s: A widow.      A bit ornery and independent, but has a compassionate side. Warms     up to Gil and Lana.

Adam     Helmer: Plays 20’s-30’s. A competent scout that General Herkimer     relies on for intelligence gathering. Best friend of Gil Martin. A     wanderer most comfortable in the outdoors. A bit lacking in manners and     hygiene but has good intentions. Has a wandering eye for the ladies too.

Capt.     Mark DeMooth: Already cast. Principle lieutenant to General Nicholas     Herkimer. Plays 50.

Mrs.     DeMooth: Play’s 30’s-40’s. Devoted wife of Captain Mark DeMooth.

Honyerry     Doxtader: Native American: Plays 30’s. A top Oneida leader. Personal     and trusted friend of General Herkimer and the Patriot side.

Benedict     Arnold: Plays 35. Devoted patriot. Highly competent and confident but     not arrogant.

Tripp:     African American. Plays 20’s-30’s. General Herkimer’s beloved and trusted     slave. Intelligent and devoted to Herkimer. Good singing voice a plus. One     song if appropriate.

Colonel Ebenezer Cox: Plays     20’s-40’s. Ornery and belligerent officer of General Herkimer.

General     Barry St. Leger: Plays 30’s. Level headed and competent British     General. RP accent HIGHLY desired. 

Sir     John Johnson: Plays 20’s. Competent and devoted leader of the Tory     cause. Plays second to General Barry St. Leger.

Walter     Butler: Plays 20’s. A bit arrogant. A prominent Tory in the Mohawk     Valley. Ally of the British and friend of Sir John Johnson. Can be brutal     if necessary. Plays second to Sir John Johnson.

Joseph     Brant: Native American: Plays 30’s. Mohawk War Captain who is highly     revered by both Tories and Patriots alike. Has a stoic and noble presence     and demeanor. Committed to the British side.

Han     Yost Schuyler: Plays 20’s-30’s. A Tory, Han Yost is revered by the     natives for his “special” powers. These powers are interpreted by his     family and neighbors as a mental affliction of some kind. It is certain     that he has an affliction but uncertain how much it hinders his judgement.
