Capital Rep will hold auditions for non-union actors for Ensemble parts for its upcoming holiday show, A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 5-7PM at Capital Rep, 111 N. Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12207

SHOW:  A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek  & Justin Paul, book by Joseph Robinette.
Description:  This Tony-nominated musical is based on the classic hilarious holiday movie about Ralphie Parker and his dreams to get a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas.  The song-filled show requires ensemble members with stamina (there’s a lot of singing) who like being around children.
Rehearsals Start:  Nov. 3, 2015
Previews start:  Nov. 27
Show runs:  Nov. 27 – Dec. 27
Performance schedule:  Tues-Thurs 7:30PM, Fri/Sat 8PM, Sat 3PM, Sun 2PM.
Morning Matinee performances:  Dec. 3, 11, 15, 17, 24.
Holidays off:  Thanksgiving (11/26) – Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Rehearsal schedule: Tues-Fri – 3:30PM-10PM, Sat/Sun – 10-6.  (During technical rehearsals, actors need to be available from 1PM- more info at the theatre)
SEEKING:

(1) Female – 35-50 – Soprano.  Versatile singer/actress who moves well to play moms, neighbors and various parts in the fantasy sequences.

(1) Female – 35-50 – Mezzo.  Versatile singer/actress who can be part of a kickline to play moms, neighbors and various parts in the fantasy sequences.

(2) Males – late 20s-40s - Baritone or Bass-Baritone, Versatile singer/actors who move well and can be in a kick line, and play neighbors, dads, and various parts in the numerous fantasy sequences
To Audition:
Prepare short monologue (memorized) and a Broadway song (32 bars) that shows off your voice.Bring headshot/resume (stapled together) and sheet music in the correct key.  Accompanist is provided but will not be able to transpose your song.
