Curtain Call Theatre (Latham, NY) will be holding auditions for their

upcoming Capital Region premiere production of



*"Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike"*

Date:                Tuesday – January 27 and Wednesday – January 28, 2015

Time:               7:00pm – 9:00pm


Rehearsals:      Begin early April 2015

Performances: *May 22 – June 27, 2015*

(Thu 7:30pm, Fri & Sat 8pm, Sun 3pm)

Vanya and Sonia, middle-aged bitter siblings sharing a home in Bucks
County, PA, are suddenly caught off guard when their imperious, celebrity
of a sister Masha swoops in with her hot young boyfriend Spike, amid
threats to sell the house. Add in the sassy maid, Cassandra (who can
predict the future) and an aspiring actress Nina (whose presence irritates
Masha) and you’re in for a night of pure laughter from Christopher Durang’s
Tony Award Winning new play!



*Available Roles:*



All actors need nuanced comic ability and a physical freeness



Vanya - 50′s-60′s, living in Buck’s County, resigned to his life, more or
less (at least compared to Sonia), dour, a master of comic underplaying



Sonia - 50′s-60s, his stepsister, discontent, sad, regretful, sense of
longing for a life not lived. Must master a halfway decent Maggie Smith
imitation.



Masha - 50′s, 60′s, glamorous and successful actress, has gone gallivanting
around the world, competitive, self-absorbed, insecure move star



Spike - late 20′s or 30′s stunning, buff, rather stupid aspiring actor,
great moves. Masha’s new boy toy.



Cassandra  - any age or ethnicity, cleaning woman and soothsayer who knows
her way around a voodoo doll.



Nina - 20′s, dewy, star struck, energetic, lovely.  Visiting her aunt and
uncle next door.  Would be actress.
