This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds one fateful Christmas Eve.

AUDITION DATES- Tuesday September 15 and Thursday September 17 @ 7:30 PM. Schenectady Civic Players. 12 S. Church St Schenectady. Sign-up @ 7 PM. 
SHOW DATES- December 4-6 and 9-13, 2015

CAST REQUIREMENTS

3 men, 2 women, ages 30+
Actor 1 plays George Bailey
Actor 2 plays The Angel Joseph, Mr. Potter, Mr. Gower and 11 other parts.
Actor 3 plays The Angel Clarence, Sam Wainwright, Mr. Martini and 9 other parts.
Actress 1 plays Mary Hatch
Actress 2 plays Mrs. Hatch, Mrs. Bailey, Zuzu, Janie and 6 other parts.

The action takes place at Radio Station WBFR in New York City on Christmas Eve, 1946. Scripts are read at two microphones and all actors take part in producing the sound effects. Although solo singing will not be required, it is hoped that cast members will be able to join in unison carol singing and jingles for the show’s sponsors. Additional solo work will be determined after casting. If possible, one cast member could play the piano.
