> Summary: 5 Characters (Tristin, Sonata, Grace, Effie, and Jimmy) meet in a psychiatric facility and become friends. Season 1 will follow their misadventures in getting to know each other and the facility, while dealing with their different past experiences.

> LEAD CHARACTERS
> TRISTIN is a young man in his mid-twenties. He is hospitalized after a suicide attempt triggered by his girlfriend Ani's suicide after miscarrying their daughter during the second trimester. He often writes letters to her-- his way of dealing with the death and his remorse for not succeeding in 'joining her'. He uses writing and music to cope with his losses and inner demons, and struggles to find a reason to continue living, let alone build a new life without Ani.
> 
> SONATA is a college-age girl hospitalized for self-harm and near suicide. For 6 years, she has struggled with anxiety, depression, ocd, panic disorder, and ptsd. Between the ages of 6 and 10, she was molested by her grandfather’s partner, but has no memory of him whatsoever since he died. Because of this, it is difficult for her to be intimate with anyone. The triggering event that led to her to needing treatment involved a college professor trying to take advantage of her. Throughout this series, Sonata will come to terms with memories of her past and her hopelessness in finding anyone worth trusting or loving.

> GRACE is a girl in her early twenties struggling with an extreme anxiety disorder and frequent panic attacks. She is very artistic and uses her art to deal with her stress. She is also extremely distrustful of people, as she was previously in an extremely abusive relationship . Her suicide attempt resulted from her belief there was no other way to get out of the relationship. 
> 
> EFFIE is a twenty-year-old who has been dealing with the death of her little brother for a while, convinced that it was her fault. She is sarcastic and struggles to manage her anger. After the love of her life cheated on her, she finds herself sexually compromised in various ways.  
> 
> SEEKING ACTORS FOR:
> JIMMY is a schizophrenic male in his mid-twenties who comically portrays an individual who has difficulty telling fantasy from reality. He is constantly making jokes, insensitively, and insists that his reality is correct. 
> 
> SHANE is a teen girl who has undiagnosed autism. As a little girl, she was sex-trafficked and since then, has difficulty understanding what happened to her. With limited speech and cognitive processing skills, her only way of expressing her trauma is through her constant obsession with “freeing the slaves”. Suffering from PTSD and frustrated at her inability to communicate her issues, she hangs herself at the end of the season.

> NURSES (ELLEN and ANNA): seemingly kind and understanding but strict with rules
> 
> ALAN: Counselor who deals with intake interviews, discharge, and giving and deducting points from patients. As the season progresses, his backstory is revealed and other characters begin to see him as an individual rather than a representation of the facility.
> 
> LIONNE: Man between 40 and 60 years of age with very fluffy hair (actor may have to wear a wig). He is insensitive to people’s privacy and takes pride in enforcing even the pettiest of rules. He thinks he is funny and respectable, but he is quite the opposite.
> 
> DR. WILLOW: Female therapist between 40 and 60 years of age who runs a meditative group therapy session. She is beyond the stereotypical hippie, but very sweet.
> 
> DR. WINTERS: Head psychiatrist responsible for prescribing medication. She is very cold and doesn’t like to listen to her patients, but is very happy to try drug after drug on them to see which will work.

> DR. MAY: Tristin’s caring outpatient therapist who convinces him to check into the facility

> ANI: Tristin’s loving girlfriend who deals with the grief and loss of her unborn child, and eventually kills herself.

> RJ: Likable young male guitarist who conducts music therapy sessions.  He is one of the only employees who the patients feel comfortable being themselves with.

> SAMMY: Young adult female best friends with Effie, who later becomes her girlfriend.

> MATT SILVARIO: Effie’s Italian ex-boyfriend who ends up cheating on her (appears twice in the season)

> DANIELLE: A young nurse appearing in episode 3 who is new to the facility and ends up quitting shortly after meeting the patients

> DR. FLETCHER: Adult male between the ages of 40 and 65. Sonata’s college professor who tries to manipulate her into a sexual relationship

> PATIENTS: Adults of varying ages to be extras or background characters.

> FAMILY MEMBERS: Siblings and parents that visit the patients

> Enter the campus near building 21 (Theatre Institute at Sage, Schacht Fine Arts Center)
> Pass McKinstry Courtyard on the left
> Enter building 19 (Student Life Center) and take elevator to 2nd floor
