Hello Everyone,

The Polar Express train event runs out of the Saratoga Springs train station (26 Station Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY) mid November thru December. The ride mimics the story portrayed in the Polar Express book/movie. (Please see additional info from the Polar Express Event Coordinator via an attachment or link below.)

The event hires lots of local talent to participate in this fantastic seasonal job opportunity, in which you can earn great money AND have tons of fun while doing it!!! There is NO experience necessary to apply, however, applicants MUST be enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing AND energetic!!

The application process is new this year. If interested in employment, you will go on-line to apply. The site is as follows:

https://workforcenow.adp.com/jobs/apply/posting.html?client=iowapac&ccId=19000101_000001&type=MP&lang=en_US

Below is some additional info you might find helpful:
*ALL individuals age 14 and UP are encouraged to apply as there's something fun for everyone!
Please note, however, that the NYS Dept of Labor has restrictions on the number of hours a
day 14 & 15 year olds can work.
*Salary depends on the job you are hired to do. In past years, starting salary has run $10 to
      $12/hr and upward.
*This is a seasonal, part-time job for approximately 6 weeks.
*Train runs November 13 thru December 27, 2015. Orientation and training for employees will
begin approx a week prior to opening night.
*Train runs Tuesdays thru Sundays; closed Mondays.
*There are 2 runs a night - 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
*A run (from the Saratoga Springs train station to the North Pole, and back to Saratoga) is one
      hour long.
*Positions are available both on and off the train. Some include:
+Characters from the Polar Express story: Chefs & Waiters
                                                                          Conductors
                                                                          Hobos
                                                                          Elves
                                                                          Santa
     +Audio/Sound Technical Staff
     +Cleaning/Maintenance
     +On-board Kitchen Staff/Hot Cocoa Makers
     +Ticket Sales/Will-Call Window
     +Gift Shop
     +Parking Attendants
*Time of arrival at work will depend on which job you are hired to do. Characters/actors may
need to arrive 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm, while other positions may need to be there by early/mid
afternoon. Most, if not all jobs will conclude around 9:00 pm.
*In order to put on a GREAT live show EVERY night, this event needs sufficient staffing EVERY
night! Applicants do not need to be available the entire time/duration of the event,
HOWEVER, it is ONLY a 6 week event, so the GREATER your availability the BETTER!!
*Please be aware there is a background check AND mandatory drug test.

Attention Specifically College/Grad Students:
DO NOT discount this job opportunity! You are still encouraged to apply, even if you are only available (select) weekends and school recesses. COMPLETE the application process EARLY so that you are all set to begin work as soon as you are done with school.

I CANNOT stress this enough.......if you are interested, APPLY EARLY!!! It could take several weeks for the hiring process to be complete. This is a huge event! Make sure YOU stay on top of things and take a PROACTIVE approach!!

In past years, for some reason it seems the later an applicant waits to apply and submit their paperwork, the longer it can take for a response. And in some instances, some people don't seem to hear back at all. I do not know why this occasionally happens. If you are not contacted within 2 weeks of submitting your application, please feel free to get a hold of me and I will do my best to follow thru for you.

Any concerns and/or questions, please feel free to contact me. My info is as follows:

                                            GREAT STAFF = GREAT SHOWS!!!
