*Ghent Playhouse is looking for  a male & a female actor for its upcoming
Fall production*





As the first production of its 2016-2017 theater season, the Ghent
Playhouse is presenting *THE 39 STEPS.  A*dapted for the stage by Patrick
Barlow, this fast paced melodrama is based on the novel by John Buchan and
the 1935 movie by Alfred Hitchcock.  The production will be directed by
Deena Pewtherer.



Stamina, verbal and physical comedy skills and multiple dialects are
required for the roles.



We are looking to cast the role of Richard Hannay, an early 30’s to mid
40’s dashing hapless hero fleeing from a wrongful murder accusation,
leading us through a series of improbable adventures while pursued across
the Scottish moors by British bobbies.



We are also looking to cast a female to play the following roles:

***Annabella Schmidt – An exotic secret agent

***Pamela - A beautiful woman, lured into Hannay’s adventure, but skeptical

                                    about his claims of innocence.

***Margaret – A farmer’s wife.  A shy young woman who dreams of life and

                                adventure in the city.



**These roles are all to be played by one actress – Ages 25 – 40’s – German*

*Scottish and cultured British dialects are required.*





*Production Dates*:  October 7-9, 14-16 and 21-23, 2016 (Preview
performance Oct 6)

                               Friday and Saturday Evening Performances at
8:00 p.m.

                               Sunday Matinee Performances at 2:00 p.m.
