Schenectady Light Opera Company ispleased to announce auditions for the opening production of our 90thAnniversary season: Irving Berlin’s AnnieGet Your Gun.
Telling theromantic tale of true-life wild-west performing artists Annie Oakley and FrankButler, this Tony Award-winning fable features some of Berlin’s best knownwork, including “Anything You Can Do,” “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly,” and“There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

at 427Franklin Street, Schenectady. Pleaseprepare 16 bars of a Broadway show tune or similar standard (accompanistprovided). Readings will be from thescript. Open to all ethnicities.
Rehearsalswill commence mid-July, leading up to performances September 23 through October2.
Availableroles:
Annie Oakley (20s) – Spirited and fun. A gifted trigger finger, though all thumbswith romance.
Frank Butler (30s) – Handsome,self-assured, man’s man. A decent fellowif a little cocksure.
Buffalo Bill (50s-60s) – Larger thanlife, old west celebrity. Gentlemanly,kind, eyes full of twinkle.
Charlie Davenport (40s) – Manager ofthe traveling Wild West show. Quickwitted, on the ball.
Dolly Tate (30s) – Frank’s lovelyassistant. A little stuck on herself, alittle dismissive of others.
Winnie Tate (late teens) – A happy,vibrant young performer in the show.
Tommy Keeler (20s) – Halfnative-American, half white, all in love with Winnie.
Chief Sitting Bull (50s-60s,non-singing) – Grand old figurehead of the frontier. Warm and wise.
Jessie (14) – Annie’s little sister
Nellie (12) – Annie’s other littlesister
Little Jake (10) – The man of the Oakleyfamily.
Foster Wilson (50s) – Grizzled hotelierwho first discovers Annie.
Pawnee Bill (50s-60s) – Buffalo Bill’s good-naturedrival on the western show circuit.
