Hello Everyone, 

The train has not YET left the station! So, if you haven't already, there is still time to apply for a position with the Polar Express train event. This adventure is NOT just for kids at least 14 years old......it's GREAT seasonal employment for adults too!! And at a competitive rate of pay, you can't afford to let the FUN pass you by!

Hurry, the time to ACT is NOW!!!

The Polar Express wants to hire lots of great staff to make this another successful year! In order to put on a MEMORABLE live show every night, this grand event needs a sufficient number of enthusiastic, outgoing, energetic AND dedicated staff members every night!! Applicants do not need to be available the entire time/duration of the event, HOWEVER, it is ONLY approximately a 5 week event, so the GREATER your availability the BETTER!! In other words, for the most part, your AVAILABILITY to work SHOULD be greater than your UNavailability!!

This year the train will run November 18 thru December 23, 2016, with select days of operation in November, and then six (6) days a week in December. Orientation and training for employees will begin approx a week prior to opening night. 

Applications are still being accepted online. DO NOT DELAY...it can take several weeks or longer for the hiring process to be complete, as this year it is a multi-step process! And APPLY EARLY as positions are limited!! In past years, for some reason it seems the later an applicant waits to apply and submit their paperwork, the longer it can take for a response. And in some instances, people didn't hear back at all. This is a huge event, so make sure YOU stay on top of things and take a PROACTIVE approach!!

Click on “View Current Job Openings” and this link will redirect you to the ADP Workforce Now website. Then look for the link to “Seasonal Cast Member – North Creek, NY” and click “APPLY” in the upper right hand corner. Follow the prompts to the online application. 

Please be aware that this site is temperamental at times. If you are unable to access it through a smartphone or tablet (because you get an error message that says you are using an unsupported browser or device, and warning you that some features may not work correctly), then try using a laptop or desktop computer. 

ADDITIONALLY PLEASE NOTE:
Saratoga & North Creek Railway will be conducting Polar Express Job Fairs at the Saratoga Springs train station (26 Station Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY) from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and again from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the following dates:
October 11, 2016
October 18, 2016
October 22, 2016

You should attend one of the Job Fairs if:
*You are interested in finding out more about employment with the Polar Express Train event. 
*You have have not been able to access the online application because the employment link will not work, as there is a computer at the station that will connect to the job application link.
*You are still waiting to hear back as to the status of your online job application.
*You have applied online, been approved, and now need to complete the application process. 

At the Job Fair you will complete the online Job Application if you haven't already done so, provide proper ID (Social Security Card AND Driver's License/Student ID OR Passport), provide Working Papers if under 18 years old, provide Bank Account info for direct deposit of your paycheck, and you'll complete Tax Forms. (If you received Jessica Hayle's email and have already gone to the station to complete your initial paperwork, then you are all set for now...just sit tight...and wait for further instructions from Saratoga & North Creek Railway.)

After your background check has been completed and you are cleared, you will again receive instruction from SNC Railway regarding the drug screening. The form you receive will be taken to any LabCorp (with photo ID and SSN), where your drug test will be performed. There is a LabCorp right around the corner from the train station, located at 6 Care Lane, Saratoga Springs. They perform drug screenings Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In order to get the word out, would the schools and colleges please continue to broadcast this info on your morning announcements/radio stations/tv stations/social media sites. And please forward this email to any interested parties and/or send special notification to drama departments/acting clubs/theater groups. Also, feel free to post the info in high traffic areas/student centers/lounges/community bulletin boards.

Attention Specifically College/Grad Students Away At School:
DO NOT discount this job opportunity. You are still encouraged to apply, even if you are only available (select) weekends and school recesses especially if you are done with school in early December! COMPLETE the application process EARLY so that you are all set to begin work as soon as you are done with school.
