Final Audition Sept. 15 for Colonial Little Theatre’s New Play Festival
JOHNSTOWN – Colonial Little Theatre will hold the final audition Sept. 15 for its 10th New Play Festival of staged readings, Oct. 21 and 22, 2016.
 
The audition will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the 1 Colonial Court theatre.

Four short plays by Capital Region authors will be presented over the two nights, Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

The plays:

“The Break-Up Table” by Julie Demers, 14 minutes, four men, two women. Sonnet Gravina director.

An innocent table couldn’t break up a happy, loving couple…or could it?

“The Depot Encounter” by Jason LaSusa, 30 minutes, two men, three women. Jason LaSusa director.

Following the murder of his fiancé, Stan attempt to meet new women in a train station, after the urging of his good friend Keith.  He meets three women: Nora, Peggy and Edith and seems to hit it off with Peggy. But the community is on edge after a series of murders in which Stan’s fiancé was but one victim. This train station is not the only place where Stan hopes to meet a new woman, but where audiences may meet the next murder victim…as well as the murderer.

When a couple have been together long enough they know everything there is to know about each other. Or do they?

“The Burgler” by David Childs, 25-30 minutes, two men. David Childs director.

Sinister burglar invades bedroom of lonely old man who expects to be carried away at any time.  But soon this elderly man is adopting the clumsy criminal and incorporating him into his life.
