Good afternoon - The School of Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking to fill a number of summer program positions. If you would kindly pass them along, it would be appreciated.
DRAMA INSTRUCTOR(S) for various theatre camps
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking Drama Instructors for the summer programs. Instructor must be trained in the tools and techniques of theatre arts. Class descriptions below, please specify which class you are applying for in your cover letter. Experience in teaching drama to youth 7 – 13 year olds, in a high energy, creative and fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is a must. Instructor must be an ambassador for and have a dedication to theatre arts required.
Job Duties:
* Deliver instruction for specific summer program as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
* Tteach character and acting techniques for group and individual scenes and help each student develop skills as individuals and as a class.
* Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self-esteem building.
* Create an end of the week performance, showcasing the highlights of what the students learned throughout the week (20-30 minutes in length).
* Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
The ideal candidate will have:
* • BA in Theatre or Education
* • At least 2 years experience teaching drama related programs to youth
* • Passion for theatre and theatre arts education
Contractual Period:
* • Acting Out!: July 9-13. 2018: 9am-4:30pm at theREP
* • Acting Out!: July 16-20, 2018; 9am-4:3pm at Proctors
* • Non-Musical Theatre Acting: July 30 – August 3, 2018: 9am – 4:30pm at Proctors
Class Descriptions:
* Acting Out!: A full day, one-week program for 7-10-year-olds who are interested in exploring the performing arts. This program helps students embrace the core skills that every actor needs, regardless of age, self-confidence, or creativity. Students will learn to collaborate, project the voice on stage, improvise, listen to others, and trust in themselves and their partners.
* Non-Musical Theatre Acting: A full day, one-week program for 10 – 13 year olds who are interested in exploring the performing arts onstage. This program encourages students to embrace their own individuality, to feel confident and spontaneous. Faculty will help these young performers strip away stigma and unlearn embarrassment through improvisation games, group scenes, spoken words, and monologues to the embrace acting and theatre.

BROADWAY DANCE TEACHING ARTISTS
The School of the Performing Arts is seeking a Dance instructor for summer programs. Artist must be trained and have experience in professional musical theater, either on Broadway or Broadway tours. Experience mentoring and teaching dance to 10 – 14 year olds in a high energy, creative, fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is a must. Artist must be an ambassador and have a dedication to arts education.
Job Duties:
* Deliver instruction for Broadway Dance and in the dance portion Broadway Camp Jr. as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
* Teach musical theatre dance technique and choreography and help each student develop skills as individuals and as a class.
* Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self-esteem building.
* Create an end of the week performance, showcasing the highlights of what the students learned throughout the week (20-30 minutes in length).
* Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
Period of Employment: Broadway Camp Jr. July 9-13, 2018; 9am -4:30pm
(flexible schedule, subject to change, approximately 12 hours over 3 days)
Broadway Dance July 23 – 27, 2018; 9am-4:30pm

BROADWAY JR. TEACHING ARTISTS
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking an acting/vocal instructor for the summer programs. Artist must be trained and have experience in professional musical theater, either on Broadway or Broadway road tours. Experience mentoring and teaching drama to 12 – 14 year olds in a high energy, creative, fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is required. Artist must be an ambassador and have a dedication to arts education.
Job Duties:
* Deliver instruction for voice and acting technique for Broadway Jr. as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
* Provide vocal and acting coaching, constructive evaluation to song and monologue cuts and ensemble performance, helping each student develop skills and techniques as individuals and as a class.
* Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self- esteem building.
* Create an end of the week performance, showcasing the highlights of what the students learned throughout the week.
* Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
Period of Employment: July 9-13, 2018; 9am – 4:30pm (flexibility in attached s schedule, subject to change)

DANCE LAB TEACHING ARTISTS
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors seeks four Dance Instructors to the for summer. Dance Lab is a series of master classes in jazz, ballet, tap and hip hop with a separate instructor for each session. Instructors must be trained in one of the dance techniques, please specify which techniques you are applying for in your cover letter. Experience in teaching interpretive dance to youth 10 – 14 year olds in a high energy, creative and fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is a must. Instructor must be an ambassador for and have a dedication to theatre arts education.
Job Duties:
* Deliver instruction for specified master class for Dance Lab as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
* Teach dance techniques for group and individual scenes and help each student develop skills as individuals and as a class.
* Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self-esteem building.
* Collaborate to create an end of the week performance, showcasing the highlights of what the students learned throughout the week (20-30 minutes in length).
* Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
Period of Employment: Dance Lab July 23 – 27, 2018; 1-4:30pm
(Specific master class TBD between July 23-26. All instructors expected for last class, July 27, for dress rehearsal and performance.)

HIP HOP DANCE TEACHING ARTIST
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking a Hip Hop Dance instructor. Artist must have experience in hip hop dance, choreography and freestyle. Experience mentoring and teaching dance to 12 – 18 year olds in a high energy, creative, fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is a must. Artist must be an ambassador of the School of Performing Arts at Proctors and have a dedication to arts education.
Job Duties:
* Deliver instruction for Hip Hop Dance as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
* Teach hip hop dance technique, freestyle and choreography and help each student develop skills as individuals and as a class.
* Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self-esteem building.
* Create an end of the week performance, showcasing the highlights of what the students learned throughout the week (20-30 minutes in length).
* Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
Period of Employment: Hip Hop Dance July 16-20, 2018; 9am-12:30pm
