Those auditioning should prepare 16 to 32 bars of music from a Broadway
show, in a style similar to the show or from the show. Please bring sheet
music; an accompanist will be provided. There will be a dance audition and
everyone should be prepared to dance, so please dress accordingly. Female
ensemble members will all be expected to dance.

If you are auditioning for Jesus or Judas, due to the extremely wide vocal
ranges, you are strongly encouraged to sing from the show to demonstrate
your ability to hit the required notes. Suggested excerpts are attached.
Jesus, *Gethsemane* (from letter E to end) and Judas, *Heaven on their
Minds* (letter H to end).

If you have any questions please contact the producers Matthew Dembling (

*Jesus Christ Superstar* the first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim
Rice to be produced for the professional stage. The rock opera is set
against a backdrop of an extraordinary series of events, but seen through
the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark,
Luke and John, *Superstar* follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life.
The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships
and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his
followers and the Roman Empire.
