*Our fall play will be Drinking Habits written by Tom Smith*
*Performance Dates:* November 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, and 17th, 2018
*Description:* Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in
this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of
Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors
open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their
trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined
with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that
spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are
inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect
with lost loves.
*Our spring musical will be Sweeney Todd with book by Hugh Wheeler, music
and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim*
*Performance Dates: *April 12th, 13th, 14th, 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2019
*Description:* An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber,
returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the
lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to
revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing
pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck
sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an
ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up...
and the carnage has only just begun!
