[Capdist-auditions] Auditions for Break: A New Musical Concert Workshop

Troy Civic Theatre is currently seeking singers and actors for a special workshop staged reading concert series for Break: A New Musical.


Written by local playwrighting duo Alec Lewis and Caity Gallagher, Break: A New Musical is the story of four young children as they come of age, fighting against the injustices of their time, as they try to make sense of a world that is growing stranger to them every day. The actors will have the ability to provide feedback and to help guide the continued development of this exciting show, as well as to help prepare for the full, world premiere of the full musical theater performance of the show in Winter 2018.*


*This Casting Call is for participation in the Concert Series only: Full casting for the full showing of Break: A New Musical will occur in Summer, 2018.


Rehearsals Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Nights at 6:30pm.


Workshop Concert Performances: June 22 and 23, 2018.


Audition Type: Open


Audition Date: 6:30pm – April 24, 2018.


Audition Location: Arts Center of the Capital Region at 265 River Street, Troy NY 12180


Audition Requirements: Please prepare 16 bars from a contemporary musical that showcases your vocal range for your audition. Cold readings from the script will also be provided.


Additional Auditions: We are accepting scheduled additional auditions as necessary, as well as video audition submissions, from those who are not available on the 4/24/18 date.
