Enter the world of the distinguished and celebrated writing team, Kander
and Ebb, And the World Goes Round is a stunning revue of the songbook the
multi- Tony award winning team.  Filled with humor, romance, drama, and
nonstop melody this title is a thrilling celebration of life and fighting
spirit that keeps us all going.  9 individual find themselves careening
through the world of love, loss, and gin.  Set in a nightclub enjoy music
from Cabaret to Chicago, the nonstop hit parade feature unforgettable gems,
including “Mr. Cellophane”, “Maybe This Time”, “Cabaret”, and “New York,
New York”.

*Please bring current photo/headshot and resume. Please prepare 16-32 bars
of a Kander and Ebb song or a song in the style of the show. Please bring
your sheet music. A cappella auditions will not be accepted.  Accompanist
will be provided. Please be prepared to dance. Please bring or wear proper
dance attire. (dance shoes, comfortable clothing, etc.) *

*CHARACTER BREAKDOWN** Please Note- Casting is subject to change depending
on auditions.  Show is originally written for 3 women and 2 men.   I
rearranged the plot to accommodate 5 women and 4 men.

*Woman 1, The Club Singer,* Female- She is brassy and confident. She has
seen it all. She dreams of how things used to be. *Strong Singer* with good
mix and belt who can move well.
*Sings- The World Goes Round, Colored Lights, Ring them Bells, Isn’t it
Better, and featured in the group numbers.

*Woman 2, The Starlet*, Female- She is beauty and talent. She has it all,
but she still feels like she’s missing something in her life.  *Strong
singer *with good mix and belt who can move well.
*Sings- All That Jazz ,How Lucky Can You Get, The Grass is Always Greener
and featured in the group numbers

*Woman 3, The Other Woman*, Female-  A performer in the club.  She falls in
love a man who is involved with her friend and fellow performer. A *Strong
Singer and a Strong Dancer*.
*Sings- Coloring Book, Class, Maybe This Time, the featured dancer is Kiss
of the Spiderwoman and featured in the group numbers.

*Woman 4, The Housewife*, Female- She lives life day to day as an average
housewife, but breaks out of her norm by going to the nightclub to meet
another man.*Strong Singer and Strong Dancer*
*Sings- Arthur in the Afternoon, The Grass is Always Greener, and featured
in the group numbers.

*Woman 5, The Dancer, * Female- Another performer at the club, She is
genuine and sweet but she can be tough if she needs to be.  She has eyes
for the club’s bartender. *Strong Dancer* with some singing.
*Sings- A Quiet Thing, Class, Dance duet with M4, and featured in the group
numbers.

*Man 1, The Lover*, Male- He is a suave club singer.  He is a strong
Bari-tenor with some dancing. He is charismatic and attractive with a sweet
tooth for the opposite sex.  *Strong Singer* who can move well.  *Sings- I
Don’t Remember You, Kiss of the Spider Woman, We Can Make it, and featured
in the group numbers

*Man 2, The Clown, Male- *He is an old vaudeville type performer with good
comedic chops. A* Strong Singer* who can move well.
*Sings- Sara Lee, Mr. Cellophane, and featured in the group numbers

*Man 3, The Lonely Man*, Male- He is a heart broken patron of the club.  He
is often seen drinking alone in his misery.  *Strong Singer and can move
well*.
*Sings: Sometimes a Day Goes By and featured in the group numbers.

*Man 4, The Bartender*, Male- He is observant and is usually a patron’s
therapist. *Strong Dancer with some singing*.
*Sings- Marry Me, featured Dancer is Arthur in the Afternoon, and the Dance
Duet with W5 and featured in the group numbers.
