Hello - We have just posted two new positions at Proctors.
Acting For The Camera Instructor – Summer 2018
School of the Performing Arts at Proctors
The School of the Performing Arts is seeking an experienced acting instructor for “Acting for the Camera” class as
part of the summer program at Proctors. Artist must be trained and have experience in professional Acting for Film
and Television. Must have experience mentoring and teaching acting to 14-18 year-olds in a high energy, creative,
fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each student. Artist must be an ambassador and have a dedication
to arts education.
Program Description:
Acting for the Camera is designed for students interested in learning skills for acting in front of the camera for film
and television. The program will study staging techniques, understanding of camera positioning and framing, and
what is expected from actors on set, hitting marks, and following protocol. This program will prepare actors for
auditioning and performing for the camera.
Job Duties:
• Deliver instruction for Acting for the Camera as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
• Teach acting technique and procedures to help each student develop skills as individuals and as a class.
• Inspire students to be creative and assist in creating an atmosphere of self-expression and self-esteem
building.
• Create an end of the week showcase highlighting what the students learned throughout the week (20-30
minutes in length).
• Responsible for supervising students at all times during the Program.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching acting for the camera.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working behind and/or in front of the camera.
• Ability to work with students with a wide range of ages and skill levels.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Period of Employment:
• July 30 - August 3, 2018; 9am -4:30pm
Benefits: Part-time position, no health benefits. No housing provided for out of town artist. No travel stipend or
reimbursement.

TheatreTECH Costume/Wardrobe Teaching Artist
In 2017, Proctors unveiled a 12,000 square foot training center, where the next generation of stars, on and off stage will gain the hands-on experience needed to succeed in dozens of career paths in the creative fields. TheatreTECH is a workforce development program to teach students technical skills to be able to jump directly into the workforce.
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking a Costume/Wardrobe Teaching Artist, to instruct TheatreTECH student ages 14-21 with hands-on practicum, the elements of costumes and wardrobe, and costume design on the show Once on this Island Jr. Experience mentoring and teaching theatre to teenagers and young adults in a high energy, creative, fun environment that fosters self-confidence in each child, is required. Artist must be an ambassador and have a dedication to arts education.
Job Description:
Artist will deliver instruction for costume creating and wardrobe management for TheatreTECH as part of the School of The Performing Arts at Proctors.
Must be capable of instructing students on the following skills: machines and hand sewing, fabric distressing, alternations, fabric dying, and wardrobe maintenance. Makeup and wig skills a plus.
Artist will work in a team with the Technical Theatre Instructor and Acting Academy Instructors to create and produce costumes with help of the TheatreTECH students and for the Acting Academy students’ production of Once on this Island Jr. Artist is responsible for supervising students during program on specified dates.
Period of Employment:
March 1 – May 12, 2018
Time: Tuesdays-Fridays 4-6:30pm. Production Meetings 3-4pm Wednesday.
All other time flexible.
