Emilie: La Marquisse Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight

Captured in Emilie’s final breath is a question she was unable to answer.
In that moment, we are with her as she shows us her life and her life’s
work, her passions, her regrets, her loves and her answers.


Available Roles:



EMILIE DU CHÂTELET (Female, late 30’s or 40’s)  Confident and curious, she
is fiercely intelligent. A seeker of truth and science and passion. Must be
comfortable with stage intimacy and highly emotional roles.



VOLTAIRE (V)– (Male, Late 40’s to 50’s) Dressed immaculately this charming,
boyish flirt cares more about his truth and passions than anything else.
Must be comfortable with stage intimacy and move well.



SOUBRETTE  (Female, 20’s)  This female doubles as Emilie on stage as well
as *Mary Louise and *Emilie’s Daughter. Must be comfortable with stage
intimacy and dance movements.



*JEAN-FRANÇOIS (Male)– young and doting, sincere



*THE MARQUIS (Male) – serious but warm, very formal,



*MAUPERTUIS (Male) – sexy and academic,



*MARAIN (Male) – snide and proud



*MOTHER(Female) – serious and wounded



*MADAM GRAFFIGNY (Female)–obnoxious and rich



*Roles may be doubled



Auditions will be Sunday, November 25, 2018 – Sign in at 6:30m, Auditions
begin at 7pm

AND  Tuesday, November 27, 2018 - Sign in at 6:30pm, Auditions begin at 7pm
.

Audition Location: Confetti Stage, Inc. - 67 Corning Pl, Albany, NY 12207
(Albany Masonic Lodge). It is on street parking.



Auditions will be cold readings from the script. The Director may ask some
auditioning for larger roles to perform a sense memory from their own life.



Show Dates are: February 8 -17, 2019 (Mandatory tech week will be February
2-7)
