[Capdist-auditions] Improv Accompanist (piano)

The Mopco Improv Theatre seeks fill-in accompanists for improv shows. This
is a (low) paying gig.

The ideal candidate is able to underscore improvised scenes and provide
brief stings and flourishes to MC portions of shows. More importantly, the
strong ability to improvise songs. To do this well, the musician must be
intensely focused on and attuned to the singer, making instant adjustments
to the song, be they rhythm, chordal progression etc. on the fly when
necessary. Experience with improv is strongly preferred.

Wide knowledge of various musical and theatrical genres is also greatly
helpful.
Jazz pianists: If you can play a lot of genres, great, but if all you play
is jazz, even if you normally improvise like crazy, that isn't what we
really need.

An informal audition process will include interview and playing with some
