SEEKING NON-UNION TALENT FOR *"THE FIGHTER"*
*The Fighter follows a young African-American boxer named Mac as he gears
up for the fight of his life, both in and outside the ring. We follow Mac
as he trains for a title bout that could jump start his career as a
professional boxer. Two weeks prior to the fight, Mac begins having
hallucinations of his estranged, abusive father. Mac knows he must confront
his father and clear his mind if he's to give the upcoming fight all he's
got.*

*ROGER (65+) *| *Mac's trainer and surrogate father.*
*Roger is a grizzled old man who appears rough around the edges and speaks
bluntly and often profanely. Despite all this, Roger is incredibly kind
hearted and has known Mac since he was a little boy. The two share a very
strong bond that is built on tough love and a shared goal.*

*POPS (50+ African-American) | Mac's biological father*
*Pops is an incredibly bitter and cruel man. Consumed by his own trauma and
short comings, he spent much of Mac's childhood abusing the child
physically and emotionally. Pops is responsible for pushing Mac to take up
boxing and establish unrelenting discipline. *
***The actor cast must be able to portray Pops as 50-65 as well as 75+***

*LORENA (20-30) | Mac's long-time girlfriend*
*Lorena is the strong woman in Mac's life. She is incredibly beautiful and
carries herself confidently. She is tough and street wise, yet deeply
compassionate. Lorena comes from a rough upbringing with no father and an
absentee mother. She raised her siblings. Lorena was instrumental in
helping Mac put his own past behind him and heal. When Mac announces to
Lorena that he's confronting his father, she grows deeply concerned.*

*ALSO SEEKING EXTRAS IN PEAK PHYSICAL SHAPE TO PORTRAY BACKGROUND FIGHTERS
TRAINING AT THE GYM*

***Shooting in June and July of 2019** Mac is already cast*

*First shoot dates are set for June 8th and 9th at an Albany boxing gym.
These dates will require Pops and Roger but not Lorena. Lorena will be
needed for 1-2 days in June or July based on cast and crew availability.*
