Acting Intensive
Dates & Locations: July 15 – 19 | 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at theREP
                                    August 5 – 9 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Ages: 14 – 18
Tuition: theREP $200
   Proctors $300
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced
Enrollment Deadline: July 10, 2019

Join us for a series of master classes culminating in preparing an audition monologue. This amazing week, led by theatre industry professionals, will give students individualized guidance and the opportunity to hone their skills in areas such as:

-Scene and partner work from classic theatre pieces
-Character development
-Speech and movement for the stage
-Monologues
-Acting technique

Students must have previous performance experience or have been a part of STAR, Acting Intensive, Broadway Camp, Broadway Jr, or Summer Stage Young Acting Company. Showcases in the last 30 minutes on Friday of the program. Space is limited but your potential isn’t!


Acting for the Camera
Dates: July 15 – July 26 | 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 14 – 18
Tuition: $400
Location: The Guild Room at Proctors
Experience: Intermediate

In this two-week program, students will learn skills needed to be in front of the camera and what happens behind the camera. Understanding both sides informs work and sharpens skills. The first week will focus on acting technique, learning how to take direction and hitting your mark for filming. The second week will have students pair up with filmmaking teams and create the final project.


Class Clown
Dates: July 22 – July 26 | 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 – 13
Tuition: $175
Location: The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Experience: Introductory - Intermediate

Love to make friends and family laugh? Embrace the stage in an acting class this summer! Students will learn to communicate with the audience with pure body and emotion. Through self-confidence, stage presence, creativity and more! At the end of the week, students will show how they can be a strong scene partner in a 30-minute showcase.


Improv Anywhere!
Dates: July 22 – July 26 | 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 – 13
Tuition: $175
Location: The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Experience: Introductory - Intermediate

Do you love making up stories? Want to learn how you can train your brain to be more spontaneous? Then this class is for you! Students will learn the secrets to great improvisation. But have no fear—in this class, not everything needs to be laugh out loud funny. At the end of the week, students will show off how they can be a strong scene partner in a 30-minute showcase.


Everything But the Song
Dates: July 29 – August 2 | 9 a.m. –  12:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 – 13
Tuition: $175
Location: The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Experience: Introductory - Intermediate

Not interested in singing but love everything else about performing? From monologues to spoken poetry and hilarious scenes, this class will bring out the star in everyone. Embrace the drama and comedy and learn how to act with your voice, body and mind – with an end of the week showcase!

Stage Combat
Dates: July 29 – August 2 | 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 – 13
Tuition: $175
Location: The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Experience: Introductory - Intermediate

Learn to fight like your favorite action stars and characters! This course will safely teach stage combat techniques including hand to hand combat, fight choreography, basic stage weapon tips and how to fall. Have fun learning how to make it look real and show off your skills in a showcase at the end of the week!
