[Capdist-auditions] Auditions for American Soldiers at Albany Civic Theater

American Soldiers, directed by Dennis Schebatta, will be presented by
Albany Civic Theater from 1/31/20 - 2/16/20
Synopsis:
The patriarch of a politically prominent Long Island family fights to hold
the family together when his eldest daughter, an Army veteran, returns from
the Middle East for an uneasy homecoming. The daughter, emotionally scarred
from her military service, is struggling to take her ex-boyfriend and
sister away with her to start a new life in Colorado. Her aim is to
liberate them of their hometown influences of society, religion and class
that pressured her to enlist. The play reveals the urge of children to
break away, the power of family destiny and the emotional ties that bind.

Cast breakdown:

Carlo Colletti, Sr. – 50- 60s, burnt out, hard-drinking, ex-cop and Vietnam
Vet.



Angela Colletti – Late 20s, was once an idealistic young woman with
political aspirations, but she enlisted in the Army, lost a fiancée and
witnessed many awful incidents



Carlo Colletti, Jr. (Junior) – Early 30s, handsome, idealistic politician



Marie Colletti – Early 20s, youngest of the family. A party girl who has
been stuck watching her father deteriorate after her mother’s death.



Jonathan “Hutch” Hutchison – Late 20s, affable town drunk and “ne’er do
well”.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script and will be held
November 4th and 5th. Sign in at 630 at Albany Civic Theater 235 Second
