Yankee Trails World Travel will host Auditions for Santa's Magical Express, Wednesday,  October 9 at 6:30 pm, at the Yankee Trails main office 569 3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer, NY 12144. This successful holiday production is now in its seventh year of entertaining thousands of children and their families in a multimedia and live holiday production that offers a unique holiday entertainment experience for the Capital Region. 

We are looking for actors to fill various roles.  Males and actors of ethnicity are strongly encouraged to audition.  All auditioners must be 18 years old or older. There are a variety of singing and non-singing roles in this production. There will be an option to work full time-- every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- or part time (1 or 2 days a week) . All actors must be available to work all or parts of every weekend from November 22nd to December 23.  ( There will be no performance on Thanksgiving, November 28). All actors must have their own transportation to the performance venues in East Greenbush. Actors will be under contract and will be paid upon successful completion of their contracted term. Actors demonstrating the proper enthusiasm and holiday spirit will be invited to return for this annual holiday production. 

Auditions will be held at the Yankee Trails main office 569 3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer, NY 12144, Wednesday October 9, with a sign-in at 6:00pm and auditions running from 6:30 to 9pm.  When you arrive at the main office, towards the front of the complex, you will be directed to Santa’s Workshop for the auditions. Roles: 

Santa; Adult Male; Beard and costume provided.  Strong knowledge of Christmas Folklore, current childrens' fads/toys, improv with direct personal interactions with the guests. Must have a fun personality to carry the persona of the big man himself.  

Mrs. Santa Claus; Adult Female; the lead role for the production. Must be energetic, able to command attention, good at improv and ability to be warm and entertaining for children and adults.  Must be physically fit to be able to stand for long periods of time on a moving bus.

 Elves; Male and Female (some must sing) Actors auditioning for these roles should prepare 16 bars of a song to sing a cappella which showcases an ability to act as well as sing. Should be energetic and able to work well with children.

 Jack Frost;  Adult Male; Nemesis to Santa, wants to cancel Christmas.  Character Actor with ability to improv, a lot of interaction with small children. 

 Scrooge; Adult Male (able to be aged); After his visit from the Christmas Ghosts, changes his way and leaves the Banking business to pursue his career as a stand-up comedian.  Great Comedic Timing, ability to improv, rapping required. 

 Winky; Adult Male; Head Elf of the North Pole, Energetic actor with good comedic skills.  Will sing along with a track, singing ability is not required. Physically able to entertain the crowd on a moving bus.

 Frosty; Costumed Character; comes to life and dances with the Children.
