Capital Repertory Theatre (theREP) is looking for nine (9) “roving reporters” for a new virtual series entitled BEHIND THE SCENES (BTS). Each of the nine 20-minute BTS episodes will include one 3-minute “roving reporter” segment. Reporters selected will give a Birdseye view of how the arts are flourishing (even in the times of Covid) in the Capital Region and beyond.

BTS will air on theREP’s Facebook Page, The Collaborative’s YouTube Page, The School of Performing Arts Facebook Page, and The Collaborative Studios TV Channel (available on Apple TV, Roku and Firestick) - and will be seen by thousands of people in the Greater Capital Region, sending a positive message about what actors, artists, designers, teachers, etc. do to train, maintain and work in their craft.

Please note this is an unpaid position.

theREP is specifically looking for YOUR VOICE! It’s your chance to highlight positive messages about what artists, actors, designers, teachers and mentors are doing to keep the arts going/vital/changing and transforming lives, especially now.

Segments could be on:

  * How teachers are coping and adjusting their training for online learning
  * How the arts are helping with community service
  * How a mentor/teacher inspires students to keep the arts as a part of their lives
  * How students are coping creatively
  * An introduction to a really cool play, writer, actor, artist, mentor
  * An introduction to someone from the Capital Region who has ‘gone on to fame’
  * Taking us through a day of online learning
  * Dishing up what’s hot in the virtual world (what you’re working on and what your watching)
  * Do you pose the question, “when COVID is over, the first thing I want to do is…”

To audition, please submit a pitch for your “roving reporter” idea - a story that you would like to tell. We are not looking for “the produced story” but a creative and exciting pitch telling us about it. Your pitch should make us (the audience) want to tune in. Think John Krasinski and his SOME GOOD NEWS show!

AUDITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL HS/COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
