Apply by July 24th  SLOC Board of Directors Call to fill Vacant Seats Schenectady Light Opera Company (SLOC) is governed by a 12-person Board of Directors, along with a Leadership team appointed by the Board President to handle the day-to-day operations of the theater. 9 of the 12 Board seats are held by SLOC dues-paying membership and are voted on by SLOC members each June to fill rotating 3-year spots. Interested in becoming a member and lending your voice to the voting process or possibly running for the Board in the future? More information will be posted soon regarding this process. In the meantime, email membership at sloctheater.org if you would like more information. The remaining 3 seats are for 3-year terms and filled by appointees selected by the President and voted on by the Board. Appointed Board seats do not need to be SLOC members and may come from the community at large. For 2020-2021, SLOC has one appointed 3-year seat available as well as one 2-year seat that was vacated early. Matthew Dembling, current SLOC President, is looking to fill these seats with diverse candidates who want to have an immediate impact on the running of the company. These are voting seats that will help guide SLOC through these unprecedented times and into the future. SLOC is seeking voices that may not have been heard from in the past, who would like to be directly involved with the decisions being made. To apply, please email president at sloctheater.org. Give an overview of your background, your previous involvement with SLOC or other arts- or community-based organizations, and what you can bring to the company. Tell us what you would like to see happen at SLOC and how you can help us meet those goals. If possible, please include a copy of your resume. We strongly encourage passionate individuals of every background to apply. This is an opportunity to represent your communities at SLOC. Candidates must be available for 1-2 meetings per month (currently held via Zoom every other Tuesday evening). Applications are due by Friday, July 24 at 5:00pm, and candidates will be selected and announced by August 10.
