Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY is holding auditions for DEAD AND BREATHING by Chisa Hutchinson.
Auditions will be at First Congregational Church of Albany, NY located at 405 Quail Street.
 
Monday August 16, 2021 at 6:00PM
 
Vaccination required. Please bring proof of vaccination
Video auditions will be accepted if you cannot make the audition or not yet fully vaccinated

Rehearsal will start the first week of September 2021
 
 
Performances will be:
 
October 14, 15, 16 and 17
October 21, 22, 23 and 24
Performance times are Thursday thru Saturday at 7:30pm and 4pm on Sunday’s.
 
 
Cranky old Carolyn Whitlock has been in hospice for far too long and just wants to die already. But she'll have to work harder than she ever has in her privileged life to convince her oversharing and very Christian nurse to help her end it. Through surprising humor and persistent questioning, Dead and Breathing investigates morality, mortality, and the intense tug-of-war between the right to die with dignity and the idea of life as a gift.
 
 
Characters:
Veronika, Late 30s, Black, boisterous
Carolyn, 68, black, Wealthy, prim but only to a point
