The Ghent Playhouse announces auditions for Annie Baker’s Obie
Award-winning play, CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, to be directed by Brian
Wagner.





*SYNOPSIS*

*: *

In a small Vermont town, five strangers gather in a dance studio to embark
on a unique journey in a creative drama class for adults.  Together, they
move through a series of acting exercises, ranging from the heartbreaking
to the ridiculous.  In one small room, through some seemingly trivial
games, quiet wars are waged, emotional wounds are nursed and healing is
finally, slowly able to begin. This quiet masterpiece takes its audience on
a transcendent journey through the mundane into the profound.





*CHARACTERS**:*



*MARTY – *(Female, playing 55, casting 50’s-60”)  The supportive class
instructor.  A free spirit; somewhat eccentric and totally zen.

*JAMES – *(Male, playing 60, casting 50’s-60’s)   Marty’s quiet and genial
husband; a mellow, middle-aged hippie.

*SCHULTZ – *(Male, playing 48, casting 40’s-50’s)  A recently divorced,
emotionally vulnerable carpenter

*THERESA – *(Female, playing 35, casting 30’s-40’s)  A beautiful,
confident, earnest and vibrant former professional actress.

*LAUREN – *(Female, playing 16, casting teens-early 20’s)  A mopey,
self-conscious high-schooler.





Please bring along a current resume and a complete list of conflicts for
the period of *April 20 through June 9, 2024.  *Regarding conflicts, please
remember vacations and holiday schedules before auditioning, as these may
be a factor in the casting process.  Head shots are welcomed, but not
required.



All races and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition for CIRCLE
MIRROR TRANSFORMATION.    Those auditioning will be asked to read specific
sides from the script.





*PERFORMANCE DATES**: *



 June 7-9 and 14-16, 2024

Friday and Saturday Evenings at 7:30 pm

Sunday Matinees at 2:00 pm

Preview Performance, Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 pm
