Capital Rep is holding open auditions for the ENSEMBLE of BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL on March 11, 2024. In BEAUTIFUL, Ensemble actors play a variety of parts with acting, dancing and lots of pop songs to sing in stellar arrangements. Except for 6 Principals, the Ensemble members play the rest of the parts. Everyone sings, has to move well and be a versatile actor/singer.  The talents of every Ensemble member will be on view.

Equity and non-Equity actors are welcome.  Equity actors will be on a LORT D contract.  Non-equity actors receive a weekly stipend.

NOTE:  ECC auditions will take place in NYC on March 4.  Please check the Equity website for details.

We are committed to casting local actors – union and non-union - for this production.

Rehearsals:  Tues – Sundays (non-union actors will not be called before 3PM weekdays

Day off:  Monday is the day off throughout rehearsal and run

Performances:  Tues-Thurs. 7:30; Fri-Sat 8PM; Sat 3PM, Sun 2PM, Wed mats 2PM

Audition Requirements:  (for all) bring headshot and resume stapled together. Please list any instruments you play.

Singing Auditions:

3:00-6PM

Singing: (by appointment or walk in)

Requirements: Bring sheet music in your key to perform 16-32 bars of an upbeat pop song

Accompanist provided (actors who want to be considered for Carole King understudy should accompany themselves on piano)

Director will be in attendance at singing auditions

Dancing: (group auditions)

Male presenting:  6:15-7:15PM

Female presenting:   7:30-8:30PM

Please wear comfortable clothing

M: soft sole shoes (no athletic shoes). (Dance will be based on a Drifters number)

F:  character shoes with low heel preferred. (Dance will be based on a Shirelles number)

Director and choreographer will be in attendance at dance auditions
