Theater Community:

Last week, Kristina Kennedy-Babcock (Capital Area Productions--CAPS), lost her husband, John Babcock (age 41), after he was stricken suddenly at home. Jessica, 12, and Belle, 7, have lost their Daddy much too soon; he was their #1 fan and attended all of their performances.

Kristina, while supported by her husband, has built and dedicated much time and energy to CAPS, a youth theater group. In addition to being the Founder and President of CAPS, Kristina spends countless hours producing, directing and choreographing shows so that Capital District children can have a positive theater experience. She is active with Steamer 10, and has performed on stage and behind the scenes with Spotlight Players, SLOC, Cohoes Music Hall and Confetti Stage among others over the years.

Always giving of herself, Kristina, along with her CAPS families, has participated in the Annual Walk to Cure Diabetes and has raised several thousand dollars over the past three years for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and have adopted many families over the years during holiday times.

Now, Kristina and her children are in need of help. I am asking local actors and local theater groups to please give back to one of our own. Please consider holding 50/50 raffles during your performances to benefit Jessica and Belle or please consider donating partial show proceeds to the children’s education fund listed below in John’s obituary.

My heart goes out to Kristina and it cries for Jessica and Belle who will never see their Daddy in the audience again…please help. Thanks!
