Spotlight Players Community Theater announces the Capital District Community Theater premiere of Parade, a dramatic Tony Award winning musical by Jason Robert Brown.  Parade is the story of Leo Frank, who was unjustly accused, tried, and convicted for the murder of a thirteen-year old girl who worked for him. This exquisite musical drama transports the audience back to a time when prejudice and hate too often prevailed. Parade revisits this shocking event that led to the formation of the Anti-Defamation League.

Don't miss a show that you will likely never see produced anywhere in the Capital District again.

Spotlight Players, recent winner of 11 awards from the Theater Association of New York State for The Producers, is proud to be the first local community theater to present Parade. This will likely be the only opportunity you will have to see this moving musical performed at the local community theater level.  The productions features Bill Harrison as Leo Frank and Joan Horgan as his wife Lucille. A large ensemble cast features many of the Capital Districts finest performers, including  Lisa Franklin, Ken Kasch, Anthony Rotondaro, Eliza Figueroa, Bill Douglas, Evan Davis Russell, Jahmere Holland, Taylor Warren, Peter Belenchia, Barry Streifert, and Elisa Verb.  With direction by Michael C. Mensching, Musical Direction by Vince Bonafede and Choreography by Melissa Lacijan, this production features the high quality that theater goers have come to expect from Spotlight Players. The supporting crew includes TANYS award winners Ric Bello (sound), Michael
McDermott and Michael C. Mensching (set) and Connie Rowe Rauhauser with Corie Rowe (costumes).

This project is made possible through a Community Art$ Grant, funded by the Arts Center of the Capital Region through the New York State Council on the Arts, which has enabled the company to produce the musical free to the public.

Performances are May 13-15 at 8pm, May 15, 16 at 2pm all at the Columbia High School Auditorium in East Greenbush.

FREE ADMISSION to all shows!!!
