by Gerald Sibleryas, adapted by Tom Stoppard.

Presented as a staged *reading *on Friday, April 11 at 8:00pm; Saturday,
April 12 at 3:00pm and 8:00pm; and Sunday April 13 at 3:00pm at the Steamer
No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue in Albany. Admission is free. House
opens half hour before performance.



Crackling with elegant wit and wordplay, the play is set in 1959 in a
military retirement home in France, where three World War I veterans spend
their days joking, bickering, and generally irritating and entertaining one
another. In their youth, they experienced thrilling adventures, but now,
seemingly trapped, they can only contemplate one last great escapade,
whether it proves to be a trip to Indochina or just a picnic.
