[Capdist-announce] THEATER VOICES Staged Reading of THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, by Harold Pinter Directed by David Girard

[Theater Voices]

*Theater Voices will present its first staged reading production of the
2016-2017 Season, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY by Harold Pinter, directed by David
Girard.*

Performances will be held at Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue,
Albany on Friday October 14 at 8:00 pm; Saturday October 15 at 3:00 pm and
8:00 pm: and Sunday October 16 at 3:00 pm. Admission is free.

 *A mysterious and spontaneous birthday party, strange guests and a
supposed celebrant are the ingredients for playwright Harold Pinter to
entertain, challenge and question his audience. An absurdist drama with
overtones both comic and menacing.*

Although the play’s 1958 London premiere was met by bewildered audiences
and scathing reviews, a single rave review that appeared eight days after
the production closed rescued its reputation. In the end, Pinter’s
absurdist masterpiece has endured to become one of the classics of the
modern stage.

Featured in the cast are: Shayne David Camaris, Lucy Miller, Byron Nilsson,


Patrick Quinn, John Romeo and Eileen Schuyler.
