Needed
Myrtle May Simmons: Daughter of Veta. Early 20's. Eager for male companionship. A bit self-centered with a sarcastic wit. Adds levity to the play. 

Veta Louise Simmons: Elwood's sister. Late 50's. Wild, flighty air, a bit crazy and very extroverted. 

Elwood P. Dowd: 40-50. Philosophical and mild mannered. Likes to tip a 'few'. A polite socializer. Caught a bit in the past but possessing a romantic sense about him. 

Ruth Kelly, RN: Late 20s-mid 30s. Young and attractive. Single with a desperate interest in Doctor Sanderson. Her personality adds depth.

Doctor Sanderson: Psychiatrist. Fresh out of medical school and somewhat arrogant. Late 20s-mid 30s. His mistakes provide humor and relief to the story. 

Doctor William R. Chumley: A highly respected psychiatrist and Director of Chumley's Rest, somewhat in his declining years. Late 50s-plus. 

Duane Wilson: Late 20s-mid 30s. Aide at the hospital. Burly character, kind of offish. Develops love interest with Myrtle Mae. 

Judge Gaffney: A mature man, retired judge. Old and trusted friend of the Dowd family. A 'take charge' guy. 

Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet: Older woman. A loud party guest and relative. A 'get her own way' sort of person. Prominent in social circles. A bit eccentric. (First Act only) 

Mrs. Betty Chumley: A meek and dominated older woman. Doctor Chumley's wife. Very sweet. (Second Act only) 

E. J. Lofgren: Cab Driver. Offers the voice of reason to the entire play. (One page at end of Third Act) 

Miss Johnson: Maid, one brief entrance and line in first act.

Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Home of Circle Theatre Players, is a not for profit community arts center.  The Center is a renovated, historically significant 1835 church with a fully equipped open performing space for theatrical productions, community meetings, concerts,  workshops and classes; and is available for rent.  The light-filled Gallery boasts original stained glass windows and exhibits artists' work monthly.  Our Café and Gift Shop are open one hour prior to events and feature our signature brand of coffee, and other SLCA merchandise. The Center is air conditioned, handicapped accessible and has plenty of free parking.  

SLCA is located at 2880 NY 43, 1/2 mile east of the blinking light in Averill Park,  centrally located from Albany, Pittsfield and Bennington.

The current CTP season includes I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.
