Schenectady Light Opera Company announces auditions for the musical "The
Full Monty" based on the Motion Picture, with the book by Terrence McNally,
music and lyrics by David Yazbek. While watching their wives enjoy male
strippers during a "Girls' Night Out," unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo,
New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process,
they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability
to have fun.  The ultimate themes expressed in the show, about taking charge
of one's life and following one's dreams are great lessons for us all

 

Roles: 6 men aged 25-45, 1 African-American man aged 30-60, 1 boy aged 10-12
and 6 women aged 25-60
 
Please come prepared for a vocal, reading and dance audition. Please prepare
at least 16 bars; bring your own sheet music. (Music from the show is
preferred.) An accompanist will be provided. There will be no full frontal
nudity in this production, but adult men should be prepared to strip down to
their undergarments. Performances are scheduled for October 13-15 and
October 19-22, 8pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2pm Sundays. Rehearsals
begin in June.
