Good afternoon: Albany Civic Theater is looking for some reliable people interested in working on the crew of our upcoming production of "Hay Fever." The available positions and descriptions are below: (2) Run Crew - the run crew work backstage during the show, helping actors with costume changes, props, etc. and doing set changes as needed. The run crew will also assist the stage manager as needed. (1) Assistant Stage Manager - the assistant stage manager will assist the stage manager as needed, and also work as set crew during the production. (1) Props Master - the props master will work with the set designer, director, assistant director and set decorator in the collection of props appropriate for the production and time period. If props have to be purchased, the theater will reimburse the props master for the purchase. (The assistant stage manager can also be the props master and it might be easier to combine these two positions, but if there are people only interested in one or the other, that would work as well.) (1) Set decorator - the set decorator will work with the set designer, director, assistant director, and props master in decorating the set according to the director and set designer's vision. This is a good position for someone with an eye for decorating. Prior experience is a plus (especially for the set decorator position), however, if you have no prior experience, please don't hesitate to offer - we can teach you anything that you need to know. "Hay Fever" runs February 21 through March 9, 2008. You would have to be available for some tech meetings during the rehearsal period (which runs anywhere from October 31 to February 16) and for tech week, which would be from February 17th through the 20th (these rehearsal and tech dates are subject to change, depending on the director's schedule.) You would also, as crew and assistant stage manager, need to be available to run all 12 shows of the production, which would be Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7pm and Sunday starting at 2pm. The props person and set decorator's job would be finished once the show opens. If you have any questions, or are interested, please email me at silvertongue74 at hotmail.com. This is a wonderful way to help out the theater, and the crew has a great time working on the show (and no need to worry about stage fright!) :) Crew members get two free tickets to the production for friends or family and their name, title and bio in the program as well. Thank you so much - I look forward to hearing from you! Amy Durant, Vice President of Production
