Auditions are at the Rexford United Methodist Church on Main st in Rexford. Just past the Rexford Bridge
Please
Prepare 16 bars of a Broadway Musical. It is STRONGLY recommended that
you sing a song from the show, But NOT required. NO A CAPELLA SINGING.
There will be a dance audition so please bring appropriate clothing.
There may also be cold readings from the script. If you have a head
shot and/or resume please bring that also.
Synopsis:
All
Shook Up is a jukebox musical featuring the music of the classic rock
star Elvis Presley, with a book by Joe DiPietro. The story is based on
the plot of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It's the summer of
1955 in a small town in the American Midwest and, during a 24 hour
period, a rovin' roustabout with a song in his heart will change this
town forever!
Roles Available:
Chad (Tenor)- a great-lookin', motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.
Sylvia (Belt/Soprano)- the no-nonsense owner of SYLVIA'S HONKY-TONK.
Lorraine (Belt/Soprano)- Sylvia's daughter, naive, looking for love
Dennis (Tenor)- a young, awkward, aspiring dentist.
Mayor Matilda Hyde (Alto)- the town's conservative mayor
Dean Hyde (Tenor)- Matilda's son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.
Sheriff Earl (Baritone)- the law in town. A man of not many words.
Warden (Any) - warden of the local prison
Henrietta (Belt/soprano) a bar fly
Ensemble of townspeople and various other characters
Show Dates: April 30th- 2nd, May 6th-9th
All performances are at the Hilton Center for performing arts
