Saratoga Children's Theatre----Classes and Workshops 

Saturdays: October 1, 8, 15, 22,   12:30-3:30pm - Students currently in
grades 6-12:

Musical Theatre Intensive 

This program will feature in-depth acting, singing and dancing training
along with individual critiques to help young performers achieve their full
potential. 12 hours of focused group and individual work that is sure to
help any young performer advance to the next level and help gain a
professional edge in their development. 

Theatre Professionals who are both performers and educators will be teaching
this class and have a great deal of experience and expertise to share. Space
is limited to 16 performers so please register soon to reserve a spot.

Musical Theatre Class for Grades 2-5

The classes will meet 10/8, 10/15, 10/29, 11/5 from 10-11:30.

Children will learn about different parts of the stage and theater and about

good audience and performance etiquette. Children will play theater games,

practice saying lines, learn some large group and small group musical

theater songs and learn some basic choreography. The children will have the

opportunity to speak a small part on stage and sing some group songs with

choreography for family and friends on the last morning of the 4 week

session. Cost per child is $60.

Improv Theatre-One Day Workshop

 

November 5th  1-4pm  

Fee $35 
This class is designed for 10-14 years

Improv Theatre

Improvisors turn audience suggestions into exciting theatre on the spot! In
this special workshop participants will learn the secrets of improv through
hands-on games and exercises. The afternoon will cover all the skills
necessary to become expert improvisors. A great workshop for any aspiring
actor, comedian, dancer--actually any young performer---all will find ways
to enhance their ability to perform naturally and spontaneously in front of
an audience. A fun, useful afternoon! 
 

 Michael Burns The Artistic Director of the Mop & Bucket Co.,Michael has
specialized in developing new theatre pieces with youth for many years, for
Capital Repertory Theatre, The American Folk Theatre, Very Special Arts,
CAPTAIN of Shenendehowa, Shenendehowa Advocates for Gifted Education, Home
Made Theatre, and Steamer 10, among others. Also a painter, Michael teaches
Studio Art and Video Technology at The Charlton School. He lives in
Schenectady with his wife and professional partner Kat Koppett.
