Colonial Little Theater will be performing the supernatural
psychological thriller The Innocents. 
Written by William Archibald, based on Turn of the Screw by Henry James.


 

It runs March 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, April 1. 

 

We need to cast two specters, one male and one female.  There are no lines in these parts, but they
are key to the story.  This is a tale of
two orphans who are “haunted” by two deceased people, and there is ambiguity as
to whether it is a literal haunting or a figurative haunting.  

 

The male is the ghost of Peter Quint, the villain of the
story.  A commanding presence at the
house when he was alive, he “corrupted” the two youths.  Age range can go anywhere up to 45.  

 

The female is that of Miss Jessel.  She is more of a tragic figure, a former governess who also was
corrupted.  Should have a healthy look
and not appear any older than 30. 

 

Rehearsal time will be minimal for these parts.  Two dress rehearsals are March 19 and
21.  Actors should arrange to attend one
or two rehearsals prior to that.  These
are ideal parts for people who want to be in a show, but cannot commit the time
to a full schedule. E-mail the director if interested, include photo.
