"How do you know when your audition piece, solo or scene is ready to make
the Final Cut?”
When words, music, blocking and emotion all come together to express a
unified idea, the audience is transfixed - come find out how to make your
32 bars cut into the best performance you can offer! Final Cut is a
four-hour workshop which prepares actors to combine music learning
instruction, engaging acting techniques, individualized vocal coaching and
movement in the service of an expressive performance.
Students will rotate through four sessions: 1) study the musical elements
and analyze 32 bars of music 2) personalized vocal coaching 3) explore and
master the acting within the 32 bars 4) connecting physical impulse to
physical expression and movement
Each session will spend one hour with each individual professional. The 1
to 7 ratio will guarantee that every student leave the workshop with a
better understanding of their material, tools on how to apply every aspect
of musical theatre into their next performance, and find more ease,
spontaneity and clarity in their performance. Scripts and scores will be
provided prior to the workshop. At the end of the day students will also
have the opportunity to choose another 32 bars of music, a monologue, and
various scenes to study on their own and apply their new skills for future
performances.
“ So don’t guess if you will get a callback or hope you did a good job with
your last performance but discover a powerful, integrated set of practical
tools which will prepare you to make the Final Cut and leave a lasting
impression."
