The Local Actors Guild of Saratoga announces their auditions for Tony Kushner's Angels in America, part one: Millennium Approaches.

America in the mid-1980s. In the midst of the AIDS crisis and a conservative Reagan administration, New Yorkers grapple with life and death, love and sex, heaven and hell.

This production will be actor driven. The cast will be a part of the creative process in regards to staging. Please come prepared with some knowledge of the show.

Auditions will be Monday, March 13th - 7pm at The Saratoga Arts Center, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

Show dates May 12-21, 2017

Available Roles: 

Joe Pitt - Chief clerk for Justice Theodore Wilson of the Federal Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Deeply closeted Mormon from Salt Lake City.

Louis Ironson - Prior's boyfriend a word processor working for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Unable to deal with Prior's disease, he ultimately abandons him.

Prior Walter - Louis's boyfriend. Occasionally works as a club designer or caterer, otherwise lives very modestly but with great style of a small trust fund.

Belize - A former drag queen and former lover of Prior's. A registered nurse. Belize's name was originally Norman Arriaga; Belize is a drag name that stuck. African America, can be played by a male or female.

Mr Lies & Prior 2 - (Mr. Lies) Harper's imaginary friend, a travel agent, who in style of dress and speech suggests a jazz musician. (Prior 2) The ghost of dead Prior Walter from the 17th century. He is a Londoner, sophisticated, with a High British accent.

*The roles of Roy Cohn, Harper, Hannah Pitt, The Angel, Martin Heller & Prior 1 have been cast.
