Open Audition's for "Love's Labour's Lost"
Classic Theater Guild is pleased to announce auditions for William Shakespeare's "Love's Labour's Lost."
Auditions are June 2nd and 3rd, 7pm-9pm in the basement of Proctor's in Schenectady, NY.
*Performance dates are scheduled for August 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13th, outdoors at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont, NY.*There will also be an additional performance August 19th in the Gala at Proctor's.
For Auditions:-Please memorize a short comedic classic monologue (2 or 3 minutes long)-We will also be reading sides from the show-You may bring a current resume and headshot if you have one, but they are not required
Play Synopsis: Love's Labour's Lost is one of Shakespeare's earlier comedies, and focuses on themes of masculine love and desire. The tale follows the King of Navarre and three of his men (Berowne, Dumaine, Longaville) as they attempt to take an oath to forswear the company of women. They devote themselves to studying and fasting for three years. It becomes increasingly difficult for them as the Princess of France and her ladies arrive, wishing to speak to the King.

- Ages are flexible for most characters unless otherwise indicated.- We welcome all experienced applicants regardless of race, ethnicity, or physical ability. - This is a non-equity, volunteer production.- You must be available 3 or 4 days a week for rehearsals starting around 7pm.-This show will be part of the annual Classic Theater Guild Summer Festival.
