AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT REMINDER!

The Family Players of Northeastern New York is announcing open
auditions for the original play with music, "Portraits of Christmas". 
Auditions will be held on Monday October 2nd at 6:30 pm at St. Paul's
Episcopal Church in the City of Albany, 21 Hacket Blvd, Albany.  Come
prepared with a Christmas Carol to sing and to read from the script. 
Any carol is acceptable, but please consider from among the following:

Away in a Manger
Deck the Hall
The First Noell
Good Christian Men, Rejoice
God Rest You Merry Gentlemen
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Jingle Bells
Joy to the World
O Holy Night
What Child is This

Production dates are December 1st - 3rd at the Colonie Community Center
in the Village of Colonie.

"Portraits of Christmas" celebrates the cultural diversity of Christmas
through drama and music, showcasing the Christmas traditions of four
different countries - France, Mexico, Russia, and the United States. 
There are many speaking roles to go along with the large and small
ensemble singing.  There are opportunities for solos.

A minimum of 12 adults (6 men and 6 women, age 16+, all voice parts)
with doubling, and 8 children (ages 8 - 13) are needed.  Every scene
contains ensemble roles, but key speaking roles include:

Narrator - any age - any voice

France
Jean - family patriarch (age 40-50+) - Baritone / Bass
Vivienne - family matriarch (age 40-50+) - Soprano / Alto
Mathieu - prodigal son (age 20s) - Tenor
Luc - eldest son (age 20-30s) - Tenor / Bass
Isabelle - Luc's wife (age 20-30s) - Soprano / Alto
Amelie - daughter (age 20s) - Soprano / Alto
Ben - grandson (age 11-13)
Zoe - granddaughter (age 8-10)
Adult Ensemble

Mexico
Innkeeper (age 40s) - Tenor / Bass
Adult & Children Ensemble

Russia
Ivan - father (age 30+) - Tenor / Bass
Maria - mother (age 30+) - Soprano / Alto
Snegurochka - daughter (age 12)

Mary - teenager (age 16) - Soprano / Alto
